Maybe you want to spoil someome a little for the holidays. Bloomingdale’s is a perfect place to find luxurious gifts, and thanks to their biggest sale of the season, some very luxury items have completely affordable price tags. My favorite feature of this sale is Bloomingdale’s ‘Take Extra 60 Percent Off’ list. Don’t be afraid of the prices you see because an extra 60% is deducted during checkout from all items on this list…even on items already marked with a sale price.
To me, a consummate gift of luxury for an under $20 price is a pair of Women’s Mink Trimmed Leather Gloves with Cashmere Lining. They retail at $44 but are on sale for just $18. The discount won’t be shown until you add the item to your shopping bag. Now let’s review this deal again: Leather. Mink. Cashmere. $18.
Sold!

Tempting, tempting sale at Gap. Come to mamma. Gap is offering $20 off orders of $100 or more when you use coupon code GAP20 during checkout. This deal lasts through the 14th. The BEAUTIFUL thing is that there are some excellent sale items at Gap right now even before you factor in the $20 off.
How cute is this ruffle neck wool-blend shift dress?! $32! That is 53% off the $68 retail! Think they don’t have your size? WRONG! It’s available in every single size from 0 to 20. Hello, daytime. Hello, night time. It does both without batting an eyelash. It’s available in a lighter heather gray than what is shown here, and will look great for the office or your upcoming holiday party.
Cheers!

If I like to grumble about one thing during holiday shopping, it’s definitely about how difficult it can be to find a gift under $20. I often feel like my option is to a buy a cheesy nick knack that will probably be promptly shoved into a drawer, or I can buy something useful and really un-glamorous. “Look Aunt Jodie, we got you a shiny new POTATO PEELER!” I want to buy gifts that will be used and liked. Old Navy picked up on my brainwaves and is running a great sale with TONS of gifts for $20 or less AND they are offering an extra 20% off your entire order when you spend $100 or more and use coupon code 20FREESHIP. This sale runs through Frday. Fleece pullovers and comfy, fun pajamas are calling my name. There are also several cute scarves and gloves for just $5 to $8, and some great clothes for kids.
Cheers!

Target and I have had a love-hate relationship through the years. I love the prices but am often turned away by their shipping rates, especially on larger items. Welllll, Target is now running their Largest Free Shipping Event Ever. Hallelujah! Through tomorrow (12/6), Target is offering free shipping on over 5,000 toys and on over SIXTY THOUSAND gift items. These savings are across tons of product categories beyond just gifts, too. In some cases (especially for Apparel, Shoes, Jewelry, Handbags and Accessories, Cosmetics and Fragrances, Luggage, Home Décor and Lighting) you will see a logo for “free shipping with minimum purchase”. For these items, the magic number is 50, so be sure to grab $50 worth of merchandise in these categories to qualify. Most of the categories covered by the free sale event don’t have a minumum sale amount, so be sure to pay attention to your order to make sure that you get the best possible deal.
Cheers!

Looking for a gift for the adorable toddler on your holiday list? Today only, Kohl’s is offering 50% Off Playskool toys. Their selection only totals ten toys in all, but there are some very cute gift ideas in that bunch of toys.
“A cut above the rest” is the Playskool Playbox Essentials “Chompin’ Mike the Mower”. This toy is bound to be a favorite and at $15 is a good find. It’s designed for ages 2 and up and has some fun features like lawn mower sounds, clicking key and swirling “grass” clippings to create realistic fun. In case your favorite tot ever gets lonely, Chompin’ Mike moves his mouth to say 25 phrases. There is no better companion than garden equipment. Am I right, or am I right? And when the fun is over for the day, Chompin’ Mike’s handle folds down for easy storage. Three AA batteries keep Mike Chompin’ and are included.
Cheers!

While I’m generally not a fan of Mondays, CYBER Monday is one Monday that I can make an exception for. Macy’s has some exceptionally-priced Cyber Monday Web Busters.
Case in point, the Dyson DC18 Slim Vacuum is a killer deal at just $248. That is a far cry from the $520 retail, and it has wonderful ratings to boot. It scores 5 out of 5 stars after 16 customer reviews. It is light and manueverable, but don’t think that it is at the expense of suction because reviewers are very pleased with the power of this Dyson.
There are so many other rock-bottom prices at Macy’s that you must take at least a couple of minutes to look around.
Cheers!

Happy Super Saturday! I love this time of year and 2008 is delivering in spades! Sales have starter earlier and discounts are definitely a little bigger than what we saw last year. And I will happily take it! A lot of the big deal news today is a continuation of some of the biggest sales from yesterday, though Amazon wins today’s prize for the Amazon Super Saturday Sales. Amazon is running a Holiday Toy Event and also has some killer gift values as part of their Home & Garden Black Friday Deals that are still active today.
Still in full force are the Macy’s Thanksigiving Sale, the Kohl’s After-Thanksgiving Sale, the Boscov’s Thanksgiving Sale, and the SuperJeweler Black Friday Sale.
Happy Super Saturday and definitely check in on Cyber Monday! Take tomorrow off if you need to, but we expect Monday’s deals to be fantastic, so don’t miss it!

Oh happy happy day! If your Christmas shopping isn’t already kicked into full swing, today is the day to let the games begin! Black Friday sales are blooming gorgeous prices in every direction. I love it! Some of the best bets are the Macy’s Thanksigiving Sale, the Kohl’s After-Thanksgiving Sale, the Boscov’s Thanksgiving Sale, and the SuperJeweler Black Friday Sale. And of course, the Amazon Movers and Shakers are always a great thing to keep your eye on since it’s an easy way to see where Amazon prices have recently dropped and where sales are picking up.
Happy Black Friday!

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you and all of your families and friends are enjoying your time together and enjoying the amazing smells and food of the day. Today marks the divide between early Christmas shopping and adrenaline-fueled, all-out holiday bargain hunting. Yesterday we were girls. Today we are family-loving, unstoppable deal-grabbing machines.
A perfect gift for your mother, grandmother, or any woman who loves to entertain for the holidays is the Pfaltzgraff Winterberry 16-Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4. It’s a $120 retail value, but Amazon is selling these like crazy today at a Santa-pleasing price of just $39.99. Shipping is free, and ratings are pretty good with 4 stars after 41 reviews. I love great looking holiday tableware, and my practical side requires that dinnerware be microwaveable and dishwasher safe, and this set comes through with flying colors.
Cheers!

By the way, I want to apologize for the sad job I’ve done of updating the daily commentary lately. I’ve been doing some web consulting and had a big deadline to hit. I will try hard to step up my game now!

If you’re like me, you probably loved cooking with Mom, baking cookies or licking icing bowls. Well, now it’s time to pass on the tradition to the kiddos, starting with the Martha Stewart Collection Ice Cream Sandwich Molds from Macy’s. You’ll get a set of 3 molds for just $9.99, or 38% off of the normal price of $16.
Also, check out the deal on the Farberware FWB275 Reversible 4 Slice Waffle Maker from J&R. At a price of just $20, that’s 43% off the normal price of $35. J&R has many other great deals on sale this weekend as part of their Saturday sale.
Cheers!
