In this world, we are divided into two camps.  Forget politics.  Forget religion.  Forget pro-reality-tv versus anti-reality-tv.  This world is made up of those who already HAVE a KitchenAid mixer and those who WANT a KitchenAid mixer.  Personally, I still fall into the “want one” camp.  I love to cook, but have had a really hard time with the idea of buying a $300 mixer since it would really only get a workout when I bake around the holidays.  But I can’t lie.  I pine over them everytime I walk past the KitchenAid display at a store.  So shiny and full of promises of making my life easier…so darned expensive. *sigh*  Amazon is really tempting me today with a refurbished version that would make a lot more sense for my bank account.  The Factory-Reconditioned KitchenAid RRK150CV Artisan Series 5-Quart Mixer, the current object of my obsession, is on sale for an approachable price of just $153.  That is almost half off the retail.

I know that we all get nervous when we hear that something is remanufactured, refurbished, renewed, re-whatever.  The reason that I am endorsing this deal is the fact that it has been through the ringer already with customer reviews and has come up a clear winner.  It scores 4.5 stars after 226 reviews!   Not bad for a refurbished workhorse, eh?

Note that it is pictured with a plastic pouring shield, but the pouring shield is not included.  (Marketers are so clever that way.)  But, considering that that’s just one more thing to clean, and given the price, I’ll leave the pouring shields to those who are better able to justify the $300 price for a new version.
